Creating Educational Opportunities

OpenDoors strongly believes that creating educational opportunities for incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals is key to successful reentry. 

OpenDoors works hard to increase opportunities for offenders to prepare for release while still incarcerated, and to build new lives upon release. 

Several studies have show that participation in a postsecondary correctional education program can reduce recidivism, thus ending the cycle of imprisonment and restoring families and communities through the power of education.
